Justin Kelly – President
Justin has spent his entire adult life working in film and television; getting his start at the age of 19 by working as an assistant accountant on big budget shows while he financed, wrote, produced and directed his own independent films. Since then Justin has gone on to be a part of over 90 productions including features, shorts, series, and documentaries and is in his 19th year in film and television. He firmly believes that quality entertainment does not have to be expensive. In 2012 Justin partnered with long-time collaborator Gerhard Gouws and writer Danny Mendlow to create Timshel Pictures. It is Timshel’s mandate to create innovative and original content while continuing to provide the un-paralleled full production and project management services that they have become known for. Some of his work can be seen in such projects as If Wishes Were Horses, The Seder (NSI Winner, DGC Award Nominee), and the upcoming Timshel original drama Group Home. In 2013 Justin joined the Feature Film Committee of the Canadian Media Production Association and in 2014 Justin became the representative of the production caucus to the executive board of the Director’s Guild of Canada. Justin lives in Toronto with his girlfriend Melissa, daughter Torah Jane and their cats Miles and Coltrane.
Danny Mendlow – VP of Development
Danny is an award winning screenwriter, professional stand-up comedian and versatile content producer. He is an experienced and respected feature film script writer, evaluating each project on its own terms, and delivering re-writes, coverage and doctoring, working hard to enhance and strengthen the final product before it goes to camera.
As VP of Development, Danny has been busy spearheading the ever-expanding Timshel Pictures Development slate, putting together scripts and pitch proposals for over 25 Film, Television and Digital projects, including Group Home, an in-house TV Pilot, currently in Post-Production, Starring Daveed Louza and Lyriq Bent of the critically acclaimed “Book of Negroes” and cult hit SAW Movies. Danny works with a variety of writers, comedians and creatives to instill substance and originality into any creative property on the table, and use his background in creative advertising to identify and attract an audience at all stages of development.
Tal Riff – VP of Branded Content
Responsible for a variety of show-specific marketing and promotions endeavors, ensuring brand clients get the maximum connection to their target demographic. Navigating the new age of content marketing, while maintaining the integrity of the production, ensuring content is enhanced by brand partnerships.
Current projects include Group Home, an MOW about a single father trying to find balance in his life; and Fat Camp, a comedy horror feature film about a group of men attending a camp for “masculinity and excellence”.
